Customer Reviews about Greenacres Association - Greenacres Joblink:

I have a family member attending Greenacres Joblink in Nowra. Last year continuing into this year, my family began acting out, on days the family member was to attend Joblink in Nowra and started using four letter expletives they had never used before. My family member missed a few days and we received abrupt and rude calls from the Nowra Joblink coordinator, telling us she would have my family members disability support payment cancelled with Centrelink. After getting to the bottom of what was causing it, we spoke with the coordinator in Nowra. We were shocked with her response and lack of professionalism. During our conversation with the Joblink coordinator in Nowra, she was rude, used inappropriate language directed at both myself and my family members, could not provide basic information on assistance provided to my family member even though she had been working in direct support of the family member who attends the service. We asked the Greenacres Joblink Nowra coordinator if we could transfer our family member, to another service offering the transition to work program and was told by her that we could not. We asked for the contact details for her manager and she refused stating she was managing the Nowra Greenacres Joblink service. We found the contact details for Greenacres on this site we called to make a complaint, in relation to the unprofessional conduct of the Nowra Jobink coordinator. We are still awaiting a response from a manager in order to complain. thankfully my family member is due to soon finish with Greenacres Joblink in Nowra and we hope they can have a better quality of life. We had a number of other problems never addressed including. 1) at the 6 monthly meeting to discuss our family members goals we were told they were not realistic instead our family member was issued with goals which were neither their own or even remotely age appropriate. 2) We requested a course for our family member being offered at the local community college. To help the family member gain employment in their chosen career path and was advised by the Nowra coordinator they were not funded to provide training. I have since found this is exactly what they receive funding for in their contract with state government. 3) On the one occasion my family member had a work experience activity. It was with the Nowra Joblink coordinators brothers tree lopping business. this was not appropriate given my family members physical disability. He required numerous days away from the program to recover from strains and tick bites. we sought legal advise on this issue and was advised not to let our family member to attend that particular work experience again, as it was a conflict of interest in favour of the Nowra Joblink coordinator and her family. considering my family member wanted to work in retail, it was grossly inappropriate. 3) We called to discuss concerns about the amount of time spent doing things not relating to employment and the lack of work experience opportunities offered to my family member. as a general week consisted of going fishing, doing the gardening at the greenacres house, going out to the shops and a few times a month to the movies, on top of this there were 4 excursions/ camping trips during the program. this is not counting the times where the coordinator took aimless drives with my family members and others attending the service. I really cannot recommend Greenacres or their Joblink program to anyone.
