Made by upcycling broken surfboards from Chriss 1000 Surfboard Graveyard project “1000 Surfboard Graveyard highlighted the thousands of surfboards going to landfill each year. As a surfer and designer, I developed ecto handplanes as an innovative way to recycle broken surfboards. The Ecto Handplane is designed with a light single concave and a carefully balanced volume to make body surfing fast and fun! ecto (eck-tow) was a nickname, its short for ectomorph, a term that refers to people with a lean and tall body shape.
